This is the year of celebrating the impossible, made possible. How better to celebrate our 30th anniversary?

In this year of economic difficulty for so many, we have worked smarter, pinched pennies, had flashes of brilliance, streamlined procedures, and grown out of our space.

Lyon-Martin has seen more patients than any previous year and boasts a new capacity to accept commercial health insurance to create a new income stream. We have proudly added psychiatry, gynecological and mental health services for our patients who sorely need these specialty services. We have transformed how we provide health care for the people who need us most.

We're growing despite the dollar shrinking! The increased demand upon Lyon-Martin challenges us daily, as the unemployment rate climbs and public funds shrivel. We need your help! We need it now.

89% of our patients are now uninsured and most are unemployed, up from 84% in 2008. That results in a $276 per visit shortfall, or $1,470, 616 per year, a daunting figure. I am working aggressively with the Lyon-Martin Board and our new Director of Development and Marketing to find new funding sources and increase our donations. We are determined, tenacious and dedicated to caring for those most in need. We can't do it alone. We need your help! We need it now.

For the cost of a few lattes a week, someone can be treated for diabetes, screened for cancer or see a psychiatrist. Our patients have nowhere else to turn, and we cannot find it in our hearts to turn them away. We trust that you cannot either.
