Sisters and Brothers

Sisters!

Thursday, May 15th was a magically hot night in the ol' town! Up on Nob Hill, some very special men hosted "Brothers for Sisters Penthouse Party" and raised awareness and funds for a vital social equality issue: women and transgender people's unconditional access to quality health care. Oh, and queers were given the right to legally wed in California, so there was a huge party in the Castro too. Talk about celebrating halfway to the stars!

The Penthouse Party, put on by the Lyon-Martin Brothers for Sisters was HOT! And I am not just talking about the weather! (Check out our photo gallery and you'll see what I mean). With so many new enthusiastic friends and kind familiar faces the celebration was absolutely fabulous - so much so that we are already excited about planning for the 2009 Brothers for Sisters celebration.

On behalf of Lyon-Martin I would like to thank and give big hugs to all of the magnificent men who volunteered, promoted, bar tended, shared their space, bared their chests, danced, entertained and showed up for a great time! Gibbs Brown, Patrick Noonan, Peter Balon and Peter Berman, MC Julian Marshburn, and Bar Tenders Matt & Leo - Brothers, we wouldn't dream of doing it without you!

We are forever indebted to Misha Wyatt and Michael Pagan for bringing Harry Denton's "Sundays a Drag" Girls; and kudos to the girls themselves - Miss Holotta Tymes, Lady Tia, and Cassandra Cass - for the sultry and playful entertainment. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! To infinity.

Special gratitude goes out to Titan for their support and generous gifts. Imagine, some lucky man is going to enjoy time on the set and lunch with cast and crew during the shooting of one of Titan's up coming films. Yum!

Thank you also to the devoted women who help make the Annual Brothers for Sisters event one of the most exciting events of the year! Simone Campbell kept the auction action lively, encouraging the spirit of giving generously. And Ren Phoenix - you rock for stepping in and auctioning off MC Julian Marshburn - everyone wins!

If you missed out on the fun do the following: first, check out the photos - it's almost like being there! Second, Lyon-Martin Brothers for Sisters is always looking for a few good men (and women) so come join the fun and the cause. Email us at info@Lyon-Martin.org or call 415-565-7667 to get involved.
